Battleship Texas: In 1948, the Battleship TEXAS became the first battleship memorial museum in the U.S.
Fun Plex: An indoor family fun center that includes bowling, miniature golf, roller skating, three cinemas, a two story children's play area and many rides and games.
Downtown Aquarium: A mix family fun, fine dining, spectacular creatures and gorgeous views of the city near the Theater District. The 500,000- gallon underwater adventure complex includes a Ferris Wheel, an aquatic carousel and Shark Voyage, a passenger train that tunnels through a fish tank. Drink and dine at the Aquarium Restaurant and the Dive Lounge.
Houston Museum of Natural Science: The complex houses the Burke Baker Planetarium, Wortham IMAX Theater, and a natural science museum.
Houston Zoo:An exciting live animal adventure set on a 55-acre tropical landscape, the Houston Zoo has launched Natural Encounters, the $4 million renovation of the small mammals building. The zoo's Wildlife Carousel, with 64 hand-carved animals, represents the world's endangered species.
Moody Gardens: A 10-story glass pyramid containing a tropical rainforest houses over 1,000 species of exotic plants, fish, birds and butterflies. Also available at Moody Gardens are boat tours, garden tours and an IMAX theater.
San Jacinto Battleground Historical Complex: The 570-foot monument was erected as a memorial to honor those who fought in the battle for independence of Texas. The monument includes a museum and theater.
Space Center Houston: Experience the past, present and future of manned space exploration. Enjoy hands-on exhibits, films and a behind-the-scenes look at Mission Control.
Galleria: Houston's most famous shopping event. Over 300 retailers, includes Neiman Marcus, Lord & Taylor, Macy's, Marshall Fields and an indoor ice skating rink.
Heritage Society: Located in the 19-acre Sam Houston Park are seven historic structures and the Texas Museum. Each building is decorated with period furnishings. Tours of the grounds, gardens and buildings are offered.
